Obtain your Private Pilot Licence PPL
The Private Pilot Licence PPL course allows you to obtain the licence required to fly single-engine aircraft for private or recreational purposes. It is also the first step for students who want to continue through the modular training route and progress towards a professional pilot licence and a Frozen ATPL.
The programme offers a flexible duration adapted to each student’s availability and learning pace. It can be completed in approximately 4 to 6 weeks through the intensive option, or over 8 to 12 weeks following the standard schedule.
The course is delivered entirely in English and includes 45 hours of practical training with qualified flight instructors.
Students also complete 9 essential theoretical subjects, which can be studied either in the classroom or through distance learning, making it easier to combine the course with other commitments.
The 9 subjects included in the PPL course are:
- Air Law
- Aircraft General Knowledge
- Flight Performance and Planning
- Human Performance and Limitations
- Meteorology
- Navigation
- Operational Procedures
- Principles of Flight
- Communications
The theoretical syllabus is delivered alongside the flight training, allowing students to apply their knowledge from the beginning of the course and progress through an integrated learning process.
The practical phase of the Private Pilot Licence PPL course includes a total of 45 hours of training, divided into 5 hours in an FNPT II flight simulator and 40 hours of flight training in single-engine aircraft.
Training is carried out in aircraft such as the Cessna 172 and Piper PA-28, including diesel-powered models and advanced glass cockpit avionics systems.
During this stage, students complete at least 25 hours of dual flight instruction and a minimum of 10 hours as pilot-in-command.
Throughout the programme, each student’s progress is continuously monitored by their flight instructor, both during flight sessions and during ground preparation and debriefing.
The course concludes with a PPL skill test, conducted by an examiner authorised by the Spanish Aviation Safety and Security Agency (AESA).
