EASA Theoretical Exam Centre

Requirements to Become a Commercial Pilot

Entry Requirements for the Courses:

  • Class 1 Aeromedical Certificate: Ensure you meet the required health and fitness standards for flying.
  • B2 Level English Certificate or Higher: Demonstrate your proficiency in English, essential for communication in the international aviation field.
  • Minimum Age of 18: You must be 18 years old or turn 18 in the year you start the course.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Hold or complete a high school diploma or its equivalent in secondary education.
  • Personal Interview and Entrance Exam: Participate in a personal interview and pass an entrance exam to assess your skills and motivation.

Frequently Asked Questions

To become a commercial pilot and to be able to work as an airline pilot, you will need to obtain a Commercial Pilot Licence and pass the ATPL theory tests which will give you a frozen Airline Transport Pilot Licence until you reach the required flight hours.

The commercial pilot licence (CPL) and ATPL (frozen) allows you to work as a profesional pilot starting as a first officer and later aas a pilot in command once reached a mínimum experience of 1,500 hours.

The pilot may work in all airline companies with a valid operation licence (AOC) in any EASA country, in any aircraft registered in an EASA country and fly all around the world, according to ICAO requirements and international standards.

 

The first step is to reserve a place with a deposit of €4,000, which will be deductred from the registration fee before the start of the course. You will also have to provide the school with your Passport or other personal indentification document and a study certificate.

Theoretical exams are multiple choice with a single correct answer, there are 6 total sittings and 4 opportunities per subject. The flight exams are carried out with an official examiner and the student will know in advance the points to be evaluated.

Nota ll student will achieve their goals at the same time. Those student who need individual support classes or additional flight hours can request the school instructors at their choice.

It all depends on various factors such as the time dedicated to personal study, availability to perform the flights, meteorology, etc. As an approximated value, the average Commercial Pilot Course (CPL) duration varies from 18 to 24 months.

At the heart of the campus is the headquarter’s building, a modern structure of 3,000 m², three floors, and direct runway access, housing training facilities equipped with the latest technologies specifically designed for aeronautical education, briefing rooms, a flight simulator centre with cutting-edge technology, offices, and an attractive leisure area for the relaxation of students and staff, offering fantastic views of the Vélez-Málaga aerodrome runway.


Our campus has modern infrastructures that include classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology, advanced flight simulators certified by AESA, and study areas designed to maximise student learning. Furthermore, the facilities are situated in a perfect training environment, with access to an active airport network, allowing you to experience the daily life of a pilot from the beginning of your training.


The flight simulator room is the most comprehensive in Europe. Training is conducted in environments recreated in real-life situations to help them complete their flight experience and prepare them for a successful career as a commercial pilot or cabin crew member.

STATE-OF-THE-ART FLIGHT SIMULATORS

At Aerodynamics Academy, we take your training as a commercial pilot to the next level with our state-of-the-art simulators. We have two FNPT II simulators certified and approved by EASA and AESA, providing a realistic and accurate flight experience for your initial and advanced instrument flight training. Additionally, we offer simulators for the Airbus A320 and Cessna Citation, specifically designed to prepare our students for the challenges of flying commercial aircraft.

ON-SITE MAINTENANCE FACILITIES

In front of the main building is the headquarters of the Aerodynamics Academy Aircraft Maintenance Centre (Part 145 / CAMO), which features 13 hangars and an in-house team dedicated to the inspection, modification, and maintenance of all single-engine and multi-engine aircraft in the school’s fleet.
