Discover Aerodynamics Academy

Aerodynamics Academy has the best facilities in Andalusia, Spain, in an environment where you can immerse yourself in all aspects of aeronautics alongside students from all other fields of the sector.

Aerodynamics Academy Facilities

Aerodynamics Academy covers an area of 76,000 m2 entirely devoted to training pilots (across the board), aeronautical maintenance technicians/mechanics, cabin crew and drone pilots. At the centre of this complex, located in Vélez-Málaga (30 minutes from one of Spain’s biggest national and international airports in the heart of the Costa del Sol), there is a 3-storey building. It boasts spacious classrooms equipped with the very latest technology, as well as a large simulation area with state-of-the-art simulators, to train pilots and passenger cabin crew. The building also has an airy restaurant with a patio and unbeatable views of the Axarquía Aerodrome runway.

The campus is continuously growing, with the addition of mechanics laboratories and new hangars to add to the 13 we already boast, in addition to a residential area with all the amenities our students need. If there is one thing that defines the high standards of training at Aerodynamics Academy it has to be the presence of the most cutting-edge simulators on the market. To train our students, we have next-gen simulators that are unique in Spain, as well as top-level instructors. All of this places the school and our aeronautical park at the forefront of the sector.

Our simulators

  • FTD and MCC APS-category FBS simulator for Airbus A320, certified by the Spanish Aviation Safety and Security Agency (AESA).
  • It comprises a real, completely immersive, functional cabin from an A320 aircraft which, as it features the Airbus Data Package (SSP), reacts dynamically, just like the real thing.
  • The simulator control manager, through the Simloc FSTD Manager and Simloc IOS applications, helps the operator manage all of the simulator’s features.
  • It is the only one in Spain to incorporate the ASTi SERA air traffic control (ATC) simulation programme, which uses artificial intelligence. This systems enables students to interact precisely with control towers and adequately manage in-flight communication, all of which increases the realistic feel of the practicals.
  • It ensures specific training encompassing ab initio to airline training:- Airbus A320 Specific Training.- ATPL Training.
    - IR Training (RNAV, PBN, etc).
    - MCC APS.
    - TEM/CRM/EBT Training Tool.
    - MPL Programmes.

  • Flight and Navigational Procedures Trainer (FNPT): Generic multi-engine, turboprop system based on the Beechcraft B200 aircraft, used for training at the start of and during the training courses, including basic and safety procedures, emergencies, navigation, instrument rating (IR) training and multi-crew cooperation (MCC).

  • Authorised by EASA FNPT II + MCC.

  • Simulator for emergency situations, covered
by accident and civil liability insurance. The simulator features all the
elements of a real cabin, in addition to emergency supplies and equipment for
carrying out both normal and emergency procedures.

  • This is a generic wide-body simulator with twin aisles, based on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. It is built on a platform, simulating the real height of the aircraft, and is fitted with an evacuation slide which reaches the floor below.

  • It creates a realistic space where cabin crew can train for emergency situations. These can include fires, cabin depressurisation, evacuation and first aid.

  • Simulator for emergency fire-and-smoke-fighting situations, covered by accident and civil liability insurance. It contains modules for simulating fire and smoke and features a galley with latches, trolleys, ovens, a coffee machine and refrigerator, in addition to seats and compartments.

  • In different locations within the simulator we reproduce real fire situations through the use of lights and electric smoke, which the cabin crew must extinguish using fire extinguishers.

  • Repetition of this vital task is essential for preparing cabin crew for possible future occurrences. Above all, it helps ready them for action in the case of emergencies that may occur at any time during their career.

Here, real situations are re-enacted within a demo model of an aircraft interior. Cabin crew practice cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the Heimlich manoeuvre, using bandages, situations involving immobilised team members, operating oxygen supplies and other protocols that flight attendants must follow when helping passengers.

  • A simulator which uses a real Airbus A320 door and complies with EASA requirements.

  • Here, flight attendants can perform all of the tasks they may be required to do both inside and outside the aircraft, whether in normal or emergency situations.

  • It includes all the real-life equipment contained in an aircraft, and simulates the inflation of the emergency slides and cabin depressurisation.

  • A simulator which uses a real Boeing 737 NG door and complies with EASA requirements.

  • Here, flight attendants can perform all of the tasks they may be required to do both inside and outside the aircraft, whether in normal or emergency situations.

  • A simulator which uses real Airbus A320 emergency exits and complies with EASA requirements.

  • In it, cabin crew can practice opening these exits in simulated real-life emergency situations.

  • These doors can also be used to explain the importance and responsibility of passengers when using them.
